Mat Care

Karma & Co yoga mats are made from an open cell polyurethane upper, and a natural rubber base. By nature, rubber bases can have a strong odour when you first receive them. We advise to unroll and leave to air out for a few days out of direct sunlight and rain.

 We advise to only clean your yoga mat with a soft and dye-free microfibre cloth (brightly coloured cloths can transfer dye onto the items being cleaned in our experience), and warm water with a tiny drop of very mild detergent.

 Wipe both surfaces of your yoga mat with a damp cloth, or lightly spray the surface of your mat down and wipe. Allow your mat to lay flat to air dry, before rolling, top side facing out.

Do not fold your mat, and always allow it to dry fully while flat before rolling it up gently.

Please, PLEASE, never use any essential oils, vinegar, or alcohol based products to clean or deodorise your yoga mat - they will not only stain the surface, but will also potentially cause your beautiful mat to degrade. This also includes commercial mat cleaning sprays.
